Mission Tour

Hey everyone!

This week our mission is being visited by Elder Sabin from the area presidency, so we are down in Madrid for a couple days for a big conference that we are going to have tomorrow. That-s why I have p-day today instead of yesterday.

This morning I had the opportunity to go to the temple again for the first time since I left Mostoles. It felt so good to be there again to feel that special spirit that is there. It made me think about all the members in the world who live so far from or don't have access to the temple. I only had to wait 8 months, but there are members who have to wait and sacrifice so much more than that. So much sacrifice goes into temple work, but the blessings and joy we can receive from those sacrifices are so incredible and always worth it.

Being in the tour, I've also been able to meet up with some old friends in the mission, which was really cool. I got to say Hi to Elder Simmons, my trainer, who I haven't seen in a super long time. I also got to see Elder Brasher again and a lot of old friends. It's been really cool.

Our investigators are doing well. Elizeta is feeling good about the church, and we set a fecha for the 14th of April for her. It's going to be interesting because she will be in France for half of that time, and we will need to coordinate with the hermanas there to make sure she keeps progressing. Maicol and Militza are still doing great and they are excited to keep learning.

Bonus Picture! Elder Sabin sent this to us with a kind note.
I'm excited for the conference we will have tomorrow. To help us prepare, Elder Sabin invited us to read his last talk, and he gave us 3-4 pages of scriptures to read. President Pack also talked about something he learned from Elder Bednar in a conference he attended. It's about how to really get something out of a learning experience. It involves first, preparing to learn; second, interacting to edify; and third, an invitation to act. He talked about how through that process we can learn and get a lot more out of a learning opportunity.

I was thinking about how that also really applies to our investigators, too. Before we meet with them, we usually try and give them an invitation to read something that we think will help them. Then when we meet, we talk about what they have learned and what the Spirit has taught them. That in turn helps them to feel and learn from the Spirit even more. Then afterwards, we give them an invitation so that they can apply what they have learned and grow from the experience.

Sorry if my ramblings don't make a whole lot of sense. I love you guys! I hope you have a great week!

PS A random fun fact - got stuck in an elevator one day. It was quite an adventure.
