Hello Again

zone conference

Hey everyone!

So as you can see and have probably noticed, my P-day was changed again and is on Tuesday this time. This time, it was because we had a lot of office work to do yesterday that couldn´t wait, so we moved it to today so that we could get everything done in time. Well, Last P-day was on Thursday, so not a lot of time has gone by, but I will try and fill you in as best as I can. 

On Friday, we went and helped a member move to a new apartment. Unfortunately, she told the ward really last minute, and she started right in the middle of the day when most of the members had work, so nobody was able to come. We also had Zone Conference the same day, so we weren´t able to come until the very end, unfortunately. We were able to make it to help with the last load that she did. She had such a great attitude about it; though, and she is the nicest lady. 

We did stay at her place though to help her set up the Bunk Bed for her kids. She said it was the simplest one that IKEA had, but I have never been so confused in my life. Ha. it is all finished now; though, so the confusion is past, I am calm, and the family is getting settled. 

Zone Conference went pretty well. We had a lot of tech problems which made things a little stressful. (Biggest of those being the projector going haywire at every possible second.) Then half way through the conference, the front lens kind of melted; so that was rather unfortunate. Ha! The majority of the morning half of conference was President and Hermana Bussey doing training while I sat next to them fidgeting with the projector. It all worked out in the end though, and it was a pretty good conference. 

The focus this time was on Exact Obedience and how to exercise the Power and Authority of our calling as missionaries. There was also a big focus on the Holy Ghost. There were a lot of things that stuck out to me that I really enjoyed. One thing that was talked about was the importance of completely dedicating ourselves to the work at which we are about, keeping our focus on our missions and letting ourselves be changed to help us become true disciples of Christ.

The people that we are teaching are doing well. On Saturday was the baptism of a man named Jorge who was being taught by the sisters. Daniela and Noemi came early to the baptism, and we were able to teach them a little bit before. They also came to church the next day and even though they had to head out afterwards pretty quickly, we were able to still teach them later that day through a video call, "YAY for the blessings of technology!!!". They are both doing great and are on track to be baptized the week after General Conference. 

Hey everyone 

So as you may have noticed, my p-day is on Thursday this week. That's because the Bussey’s are wanting to incorporate zone p-days in more, so that they can spend more time with the missionaries.  This time, they did the este zone which is ours. Next transfer, it will be another zone. We spent some time at the mission home and have been hanging out together which has been fun. 

The training in the office is going well. Elder Sullivan has picked things up pretty well, and he is already working on his own. I let President know, and as soon as he feels ready or things line up logistically, I will be leaving the office. It's super weird to think about after being here so long.

The people we are teaching are doing well. We are trying to get better at finding time every day to send messages to the people that we are teaching. To have more contact with them basically. That helps because of how much struggles we have sometimes to get out of the office. 

One cool thing that we did this week was that we relied a little on our technology when we had one of those moments. We didn't have time to get out of the office, but we were still able to teach this woman named Doris over a video call. 

Video calls aren't a replacement for in person lessons, but they are super helpful add-ons sometimes. It is crazy to me to see the applications of technology in missionary work. It is such a testimony to me that the Lord has His hand in everything.

I don't know if I've ever mentioned, but it's kinda of a thing to say bye here in Spain as a greeting. Most of the time, they just keep walking though. As crazy as it sounds, it's true. 

Thus past week has gone well. It was transfers so we were super busy. They have been finished though, and there weren't too many problems. It's always a huge relief when transfers end. Not gonna lie, that is always a stressful 2 weeks. 

With this transfer, we said bye to one of my companions, Elder Keffer. He has been in the office since last November, and he was definitely ready to head out. He has been my companion for the past 6 months, and I'll miss him, but I think he will have a good time in his new area. 

In other words, I also received another new companion named Elder Sullivan. I've only been with him for a couple of days, but I'm excited. He seems like another great missionary. I will be training him, and he will replace me in the office, so I can leave soon as well.

So right now, my companionship consists of Elder Sullivan, Elder Sure, Elder Kraut, Elder Gergov, and myself. I will try and send a pic today as best I can.

In other news, this past week we had the open doors activity of our chapel. The members put in a lot of work, and it was geared up to be a pretty big event. Unfortunately, only about 10 nonmembers came the whole day. Some members were a little sad, but those ten people who came had a good experience.

Weekly

Hey everyone!

I hope that you are all doing well! Things here in the mission have been going well.  We have been in the office a lot this past week, so there really isn't much to remark on except office stuff. That work is going well though. I was able to finish all of my projects. I also just finished updating my responsibilities packet, which just gives a list of instructions on how to do my job. The idea is that it will help the new missionary that I train when he comes into the office. When I came in, it was super old and out of date. I've been working on it for about a week and a half. When I started, it was 36 pages...now it's 47 pages. The guy who comes in is going to have a lot of reading. 

The people that we are teaching are doing well. Daniela and Noemi are doing great. We finished teaching them all of the commandments, and they have accepted everything. They have been so humble and accepting of everything that we have been teaching; it is so incredible. The faith I have seen in others on my mission is always so inspiring to me. 

I hope everyone is keeping up with the challenge to read in The Book of Mormon. I have been enjoying it so much! Seasons greeting outside the season!

This has been a pretty decent week. Things for my job in the office haven't been too crazy this week, so I have been to finish a lot of stuff that I've had tabled for awhile. Of course, it's all going to pick up again in about a week for transfer prep but for now we aren't running around so much. 

The people that we are teaching are doing good. Vilma got a job, which is super exciting. She has really been wanting to work and has been looking for a while. Even better, the work she is doing now is taking care of the baby of one of the members in our ward. It's super great how the members have been helping her out and keeping her included in everything. It’s so nice, because even though her family is open to us right now, she is still having to be a bit of a pioneer, and it hasn't been easy. The ward has been really supportive.

Daniela and Noemi are also doing great! Noemi has a really busy work schedule, so we can only meet on the weekends. We were able to meet with both of them on Saturday and Sunday. They are progressing a lot and have a baptismal date for the end of this month. Keep them in your prayers!

Maybe some have already noticed my posts on Facebook, but the church has started another campaign in Europe. At least, I think it's just in Europe. If not, then awesome; more blessings for everyone! It gives a list of 21 different questions that people might have. Then it gives several questions to respond to and a scripture from The Book of Mormon to read on top of it. I've been doing it myself, and I love it so much. One thing I love about The Book of Mormon is that every time I read a scripture, I feel like I learn something new. I want to invite everyone to do it!  It doesn't have any set dates, so you can start whenever you want!

Hello!

Hello to my wonderful Family and Friends!

I hope that you are all doing well, and that you are having a great time enjoying life wherever you may be! Things here are going pretty good. They have been keeping us pretty busy in the office. We had our Preparation Day today instead of on Monday, because there was a Zone Conference yesterday that we needed to help out with. Happy to report that the conference went well, and there were a lot of missionaries that left edified and strengthened!

Things in the office have been a little crazy. We had another change yesterday. Elder Liza had finished his training of Elder Gergov, so he left the office and our new companion Elder Kraut joined us. Elder Liza will return home in one transfer. Elder Kraut is a really cool missionary from Sandy, Utah. He was also trained by Elder Simmons, my “mission Dad”. Elder Keffer will be training him. So, at this point, our official companionship consists of Elder Gergov, Elder Eyre, Elder Keffer, Elder Kraut, and myself. Not gonna lie, it’s a little crowded in the apartment sometimes. Ha! But we are making things work, and things are progressing. 

Today we went and had a cool cultural experience. The name of our area is called San Sebastian de los Reyes, but it has a nickname called the Pamplona Chica. That nickname was given, because hosted in this town is the second biggest Bull Run in all of Spain, "Second to Pamplona where the official one is held". (Pamplona is in the Barcelona mission.) We went today and saw a bunch of runners doing their best to get out of the way of a bunch of massive bulls traveling at impressive speeds. It was a really cool experience.

After that, we went in the Coliseum and watched a bunch of kids doing tricks and trying to avoid the bulls as best they can. When we went, there were about 40-50 older teenagers and people in their 20´s all doing tricks around this one bull. In the event we went to, the bulls aren´t hurt at all, so we just spent a bit watching people doing the classic dodge with jackets they had on or just trying to do tricks. One kid kept hopping over them which was super cool. He did fall once, but everyone scared the bull off before it got to him. Luckily, throughout the whole thing, nobody got hurt (Except a small graze on someone’s leg). There were a couple close calls, though. It was definitely a really cool experience, and it´s one more thing to check off of the bucket list.

Super sorry but I don't have any time at all today. We had our temple pday. Then we had to go pick up the Busseys from the airport, so we haven't had anytime at all today. I just wanted to check in and tell you all that I'm doing good. The area is going well and the work is progressing, till next time!

Busssssyyy!!!

Hey everyone!!!

So I have zero time to write today. Reason for that? Well, transfers, Packs’ farewell, Busseys’ arrival, mission merge, and normal office work. So yeah, we are kept super busy; we’ve had several late nights of working. This past week was good though. Biggest downside is how tired we are; we've been running all over the place for a bit, and we are running a little low on sleep. It's all good though, because things are going well. We are a little behind, but we should be caught up by the time President Bussey comes tomorrow.  We were able to talk to them on a phone call last week and introduce ourselves. He recognized my name form his connection to Dad.

One of the things keeping us busy is going back and forth to the airport to drop off and pick up missionaries. There is a big group leaving and a big group coming. One day we were at the airport waiting for a missionary from the Chile MTC. We had been waiting for him over 3 hours. We were getting worried about him. His connecting flight had been delayed. It’s a really big airport. This was a new missionary, and we had no way to contact him. I was getting panicked and stressed. Maybe he was lost or scared or didn’t know what to do. I worried that maybe we had somehow missed him and should go look in another part of the airport. I said a little prayer for him and asked that I would know what to do to help him. When I opened my eyes I saw a group of pilots. I thought maybe I should go talk to them. But then I realized we’d passed dozens of pilots, and there were hundreds of people all around us; chances were he wouldn’t know anything about him. Then I felt like I should talk to him again, so I wove through all the people and went to talk to him and asked him if he’d seen another young missionary dressed like me. He responded that yeah, he was on his way and just behind him. I felt an amazing sense of relief. I said a prayer of thanks. I was so grateful that we hadn’t lost him.

Jose's baptism went super well. He is a super cute kid, and he was super happy. One drawback, the water was cold. Our chapel is a little strange. When the water heater is on, the air conditioner turns off. With the heat of summer, our leaders decided to opt for cold water and an air-conditioned building.  But it was still a great baptism. There were two children, one from the hermanas and Jose. All the talks were from children their age. It was a super special experience, and there was a really sweet spirit there. 

I’ve been thinking recently on how special it is to be with people and see the change in them as they accept the gospel of Christ. To see them feel what we are sharing and connect to that same Spirit that guides us each day. It's something that really can't be replaced.  I’ve mentioned our investigator Naomi. I found her by going through my cell phone history. She was an old contact that hadn’t gone anywhere with the other missionaries. I decided to call her and see how she was. She responded that she was horrible everything was going really bad. Her husband had just been in a car accident and was in the hospital, and she could use some support. We started talking to her about the peace that comes through Christ and accepting His will and finding strength in Him. Since then, her husband has gotten better and is home in a wheel chair. Ever since then she has been meeting with us and wants to know more about the Gospel. Our lesson with her this week was about the Plan of Salvation. In that lesson, she told us she had been thinking about baptism before we met. She gave the closing prayer and said that she felt the Spirit. There are a lot of ways as a missionary I can improve. There are lot of aspects of missionary work that I love, but most of all I love teaching. I love being in a lesson with people and being able to see the way the Spirit can influence their lives and help them to be better. It’s an irreplaceable feeling. I love being a servant of the Lord and be a conduit of His Spirit and help people feel the love of God. It’s not something I do perfectly, but we do our best.

Hey family!!!

This past week has been very good. We are currently getting ready for transfers and the merge of the missions, and it's keeping us ocupado. President was planning on finishing transfers last Thursday, so I could get started on buying the tickets, but he hasn't been able to yet. So it looks like I will get them on Tuesday, and then I'll be able to get started. 

Our investigators are doing pretty well. Jose will be baptized this Saturday if all goes according to plan. He is a super great kid and is really excited to be baptized. He will be baptized the same day as Liz, an investigator of the hermanas who is also 8. I love hearing the simple testimonies of little kids. They are so accepting, and it's awesome to see how sweet they can be to their family, and how excited they get when they are learning more. 

We are getting closer and closer to the Packs going home. We are going to be missing them a bunch. It's really weird to think about a mission without the Packs. This past week we went to their house to have interviews and at the same time we had a last dinner before they left their house. It was a lot of fun and a great experience. Well, I got to go. El fin viene ya

Hola mis amigos queridos!!!!

Greetings from Madrid Spain! Life here is going very well, and I'm keeping very busy. This past week we had a lot of cool experiences. As always, I'll go about it in sections.

One big thing that happened is that we had the last zone conferences of the Packs. That was very emotional; I even started to tear up a bit at one point. It's going to be very sad to say goodbye to the Packs. Of course, we are excited to welcome the Busseys, but the Packs are going to be very missed. This past conference we talked about the importance of obedience and being the best missionaries that we can be. It really impacted me. One part I really liked was Hermana Pack’s section on our purpose. She talked about the 2 action words of the purpose, "invite” and “help". It was a good conference; it left me with a lot of renewed desires to be a better missionary.

We also had an intercambio with the zone leaders. We ended up going to their area, which is called Torrejon. That was a really good intercambio. We ended up getting pretty busy, but we were able to find a little bit of time to talk to people. We went to another area for a baptism, which was really cool. While I was there, I started talking to this random girl. It turns out she is from Chicago and is here for an exchange program. That was just a funny little thing, finding a 20-year-old girl from Chicago in Alcalá, Spain. Then again, I guess it's about as weird as finding a 20-year-old guy from California there, too.

I had one really cool conversation this past week that comes to my mind. We were on our way to Torrejón to start our intercambios; while we were on the train, I sat down next to a guy who looked really tired. So I started to talk to him, and he is a super cool guy. He moved here about 8 years ago from Venezuela. He works in a little supermarket; he usually does about 11 hours a day which explained a bit why he was so exhausted. We talked a bit about his country and all of the hard stuff that was going on there right now. 

One thing I've noticed, and that I mentioned to this man, is that despite all of the trials and difficulties that many people in South America and his country face, as a people they have a very powerful and strong faith. I think in part it's due to some of those trials. This man and others I've met are just some of the most humble and faithful people you will ever find. 

Our investigators are doing pretty well. They are all moving at their own paces, but they are progressing pretty well. We currently have 3 people on fecha. 1 for the 23rd and 2 for the 14th. The 1 on the 23rd is an 8-year-old boy named Jose who is part of a less active family that has started coming back to church He is very prepared and right now his only obstacle would be his church attendance. His family lives a little far away, and they don't have enough money to buy a bus pass. So, we are currently working on organizing rides from the other members so that they can get to church.

The other 2 are named Noemi and Daniela. I don't remember if I mentioned them last time, but Noemi is the mother and Daniela is her young daughter. Noemi' s husband was in an accident a while back and has been in the hospital. We have been meeting with them and helping them get through it. They are doing a lot better now. We have started to teach them about the gospel, and they are really seeming to enjoy it. Daniela is being a really great example for her mom and is starting to read a lot in The Book of Mormon. She even looked up and watched the restoration video on her own free time.

The Lord's work

Hey everyone!

This past week has gone pretty good. We had a lot of time in the office thus past week but we also had the chance to meet a lot of new people and experience a lot of miracles. I'll try and keep you filled in on some of the experiences the Lord's blessed us with this week!

One story I wanted to share was from this past Thursday. We were super busy in the office that day and we were only able to get out to teach a lesson and talk to some people for about 20 minutes. We saw though that even though we had such a short amount of time we saw a bunch of miracles and we were able to meet a lot of people that God put into our path. There were a lot of experiences like that but I wanted tonshare one that was really cool.

We went by a members house to help them carry a big bookshelf down the stairs to throw away because they didn't want it anymore and they were going to leave it on the side of the road for someone to grab, that's really common in Madrid. As we were doing that a couple pulled up next to us in their car and started talking to us. Turns out the girl is a less active member and the guy isn't but he loves the church and he said that he wants their daughter to be a member. So we talked for a bit, got their phone number, invited them to church, and said bye.

We then go get into the car and start to drive away only to see them parked on the side of the road trying to grab the bookshelf. So we pulled up next to them and asked if they wanted a hand. They said yes and seeing as it didn't fit in their car we helped carry it about 7 blocks for them to their piso. I'm sure we got a lot of weird looks "you know 3 guys in white shirts and ties carrying a bookshelf through the streets of Madrid get them sometimes" but they were super grateful. All in all it was a cool example of God putting someone in our paths as we did service. 

Something else that was super special that happened this past week was that we went and met as a ward in the new chapel for the first time. We finalky got permission from the government to meet their and we had the meeting and it was very special. It was a special broadcast to Spain and Europe and we heard some words from several general authorities, elder uchtdorf, and sister Jones of the primary presidency. I loved all the talks though I had a hard time focusing on them. 

Every Sunday we take turns translating for a senior missionary who doesn't speak Spanish and it was my turn to translate this time. So I ended up translating all 2 hours and on top of that their were a bunch of kids around me being a little energetic and having a lot of fun playing with my shoes....needless to say I was a little tired afterwards. 

Ha it was all super great though and I really loved the remarks of Elder Uchtdorf, he related the modern day saints to those in the time after Jesus Christ's resurrection and he talked about how similar we were. There was a string theme in the meeting about having a personal testimony and using that to strengthen the family in the home which I really loved and really applies to a less active family who we have been working with that attended. 

All in all its been a really good week. One thing that came to my mind as I put in the subject line is my personal testimony that this really is the Lord's work. With the amount of time that we had to proselyte this past week it on its own doesn't make sense that we had the blessing to talk to and find so many cool new people. Unless we take into account the fact that we aren't the only ones working in the vineyard.

72 And it came to pass that the servants did go and labor with their mights; and the Lord of the vineyard labored also with them; and they did obey the commandments of the Lord of the vineyard in all things.

We aren't the only ones working. When we put in an effort and put our shoulder to the plow, it's easy to see that we aren't the only ones pushing. Our heavenly father knows his children and is preparing and helping them everyday. Constantly striving to help them find and accept the restored gospel. And we as missionaries and members are working right at his side. It's own of the blessings that we can have as members of his church upon the earth. I love you guys! Hey everyone!

So sorry, but I don't have a lot of time again, because we had to go pick JJ, the president’s son, up from school last minute so bear with me as I try and get as much written as possible.

So this past week has gone pretty well. I told you a little bit about last week's p-day, which was really cool. After that, I had a day in Madrid doing a little exchange with Elder Koppe, a missionary who is serving there. That was super great even though it was a little last minute, and we didn't have any lessons planned. It all worked out though, because we ended up going out and talking to people in the street, and we found a really cool couple. We talked for a while about Christ and how He has blessed us. We shared a Book of Mormon with them. That was a fun night; I hope that they have luck with the missionaries in that area.

Other then that, we had a couple of busy days in the office. We have been super busy in the office, so there was one day where we ended up not being able to leave to proselyte at all, which was too bad.

One cool note, in one of our lessons, our investigator, Noemi, brought her daughter, Daniela, to the lesson, and we were able to teach her, too. She is 12 and doesn't have a lot of knowledge about Christ or the Bible, but she has a lot of desires to learn and is super humble. We gave her a little pamphlet and taught her how to pray. I noticed afterwards that she was reading in the pamphlet, which is always cool to see.

Hey everyone!

So today I have even less time then usual today so I'm going to have to be very quick.  Last week was good. Transfers ended up going pretty smoothly and there weren't any big problems so that was nice. 

So the big reason I don't have a lot of time is that we moved our pday to Tuesday today, so we could go to the temple with a recent convert from La Laguna. My companion, Elder Johnson and I, found her back in October. Then after we left she kept meeting with the hermanas and eventually got baptized.

President gave us the permission to go with her today to the temple so we could do baptisms with her in the temple. It was a very special and spiritual experience. She asked me to be baptized for the men in her family, so I did that, and it was a very special experience. The Spirit was there so strongly, and it was very beautiful. Lucia started to cry as she was being baptized. She said that she just felt so happy. It was a really humbling experience that really reminded me about the power and beauty of the plan of salvation. It is something that is so special and powerful to know that all those we love who are seperated from us now will be united with us again one day.

Super tired, and we just talked yesterday "HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY" so here are a bunch of pics! If you have any specific questions shoot me a message. This past week has been very uneventful. I was locked away in the office for the majority of it. I didn't leave that much, so there isn't really anything to report on.  Here are a bunch of district pics, with Elder Tarver and Brasher, who we got to see. 

Lucia's baptism!

Hey all!

So we are in a super big hurry today, and I don't have a lot of time to write this email today, so super sorry. I'll try and fit in as much as I can.

So this past week has been pretty busy. We are 4 missionaries, so we have been getting in the habit of separating into 2 and 2, so we can be a little more effective. Doing that helps us get a lot more time to go out and talk to people though and to teach as well, so that's pretty nice. (Here’s some more information on my new companion. His name is Elder Packham. He is from Utah.)

Our investigators are doing well. We are moving Leandro’s fecha a little farther back, because he feels like he needs a little more time to get ready. He is doing pretty well, though. He is a super good kid. Whenever we pass by, he loves to talk to us in English, so he can practice. Ha- he always gets angry at me when I speak to him in Spanish. 

We are doing a lot of preparations the new mission president right now, helping them get ready, (at least the Packs are). Our mission will be really big when we combine. We will have about 260 missionaries. The area will be a lot larger, too. 

The snow last week was awesome. It’s in a mountain range called the Sierra. It was cold, but not too bad. 

Today was good. We went out and did some service this morning, because a member called us last minute and said they needed some help and that it was urgent. So we went and helped them out for a bit. After that, we went golfing with President, which was fun. Not gonna lie....I'm not very good at golf. Ha! but, we had a good time. It was a fun day all in all.

Hey everyone!

So it's been a good week again. We have had a lot to do, and we are keeping super busy. To be honest, this week I'm having a hard time remembering all of the stuff that we did. I'll try and mention what comes to my mind right now.

One set of big news we received is about the new mission lines. Our new mission will have Seville, Granada, and Cadiz. Our mission is going to be huge after this! With the added missionaries, areas, and districts, it's going to be a lot to handle for the new mission president.

We went to a member's house for dinner last week. Awesome dinner, at least I thought so. Elder Keffer almost threw up when I ate the eye. Ha, he wasn't having any if it! The members were laughing super hard. 

Misadventures and Miracles

Hey!!!!

So it's only been a couple of days since the last time that I wrote, but they were an eventful couple of days. So I'll try to keep you filled in on the fun and spiritual things that happened.

So we had zone conference on Friday, which went super well. I was a little nervous, because it was with 4 zones and one of my responsibilities was to order the pizza for lunch. First time I've ever ordered 36 pizzas, and I was slightly worried that the pizza would never show up. Thankfully it did, and everyone was happy!

So another fun thing that happened is that the morning of zone conference while we were moving packages of missionaries into the chapel, our companion Elder Jäger ripped his pants. Pretty badly, too. So he was stranded in the bathroom while we had one of the matrimony sisters sew his pants back up for him. It was super funny, and we were all just laughing so hard about it. They were able to get it fixed though, and Elder Jäger was able to leave the bathroom. 

The zone conference itself was really great. We talked about how to improve our teaching and the importance of invitations and commitments. That is something that we are trying to work and improve on. I really enjoyed President's words. 

Hey everyone! 

So life is going pretty good here in the office. We have been keeping pretty busy, but we have made sure to have some time to go out and proselyte, so that has been pretty great. I have finished a lot of my bigger projects, so my workload is starting to die down a little, which is nice. Based on what Elder Tarver, the last secretary, around weeks 3 and 4 of the transfer things start getting a little more tranquilo letting us focus on normal missionary work for a bit. Then comes the business of weeks 5 and 6 and transfers starting everything up again. 

I don't remember if I mentioned it last week, but we had a really cool miracle happen to us about 2 weeks ago. On Sunday 2 weeks ago, a woman came to church who is a member, but hasn't been active for over 20 years. She just recently felt like she should come back to church, and so she came to church that Sunday with her 13-year-old son. Their names are Leandro and Carolina, and we have started to teach Leandro. He is a super cool kid and has a date to be Baptized for the 12 of May, so keep him in your prayers guys!

Other cool news, I recently found out that 2 of the investigators that I was teaching in Ferrol (my last area) got baptized. That made me super happy. It's the sister and daughter of the other woman (Militza) that we baptized while I was there in Ferrol. It makes me so happy to see that the family is all coming together and being unified in the church; it is such a testimony to me of the blessing and beauty of eternal families. 

This past week or so, I have been thinking and studying a little bit more about gratitude. I think that a lot of times in my life I've taken for granted all of the blessings that God has given to me and to my family. One thing that I have come to see and that has really opened my eyes on the mission is really how much some families in the world struggle. 

In every family I have met who are struggling to put food on the table or clothes in the closet, the happiest have always been those who openly talk about and acknowledge how many blessings from God that they have. That is just so incredible to me, to see the faith of some of these families. It's something that really motivates me. 

One thing I have been trying to do recently is every night when I say my prayers, I make a list in my head of all of the things that I was sincerely grateful for that day. It always helps me have a positive end of the day, and I wanted to invite everyone else to do it as well. I love you all and am so grateful for your prayers and examples!

I got a package!! It had a lot of candy in it...the candy disappeared very quickly. I also got a tie, which is very beautiful. Also a box of poptarts! All things were awesome and for all of them I have no idea who they are from. Early birthday? I'm 99% sure it's mom and dad, so thanks a bunch! It is always fun to get packages! 

Checking In

Hey everyone.

So not much has happened since the last time I wrote. We had a pretty standard weekend. Normally, we try and save Saturday for proselyting, but unfortunately, we had to come in so I could finish a couple things for this week. That's a big thing that we are working on right now- making sure that our proselyting is our priority and not the office work.

That's something that I want to try focusing on, because as of right now, I kind of have the mindset that when I receive a new job or that there is something that needs to get done, then I need to do it right then. If I do that every time though, then we would almost never leave the office. So one focus I have right now is on prioritizing.

Transfers and Conference

Hey everyone!!!!

So this past week has been super crazy, one of the busiest of my mission. Pretty much the main focus of my week was all on transfers. We received transfers Wednesday night, but before that we had already been in the office a bunch of times to start doing things to prep for transfers. So we received transfers Wednesday night at around 8 and immediately got to work finishing that night at around 10 or 11. Because I don't have a lot of time to be trained, Elder Tarver gave me a super brief rundown and then let me handle everything. Kind of like throwing your kid in the pool so he can learn to swim.

So we came in the next day, Thursday, right after studies, and we worked all day buying tickets, planning, and organizing. We took about a half hour lunch break and then got back to work finishing around 10:30. We repeated that Friday, finishing prepping and buying tickets Friday night.
