Greetings from the land of Spain

It's been a pretty good week. We had zone conference this week, which was good. There were only 2 zones this time so not as many missionaries. Elder Brasher was there again; it was so good to see him again. There were some elders from the MTC days, too. It’s always fun to see them. After zone conference we had intercambios with the Alcorcon elders. That went pretty well; I was with Elder Ferguson. We had a good time, some good teaching visits, and English classes.

OK so this week I wanted to tell you guys about one of our investigators. His name is Marios, and he is a pretty cool guy. We met him in the street with his 10-year-old stepson Julio. He's a super great guy, really wants to know more about the gospel, and set a good example for his son, Julio. Right now he has a baptismal date for the 24th of June. So another cool thing happened; we were able to meet with Juan Carlos again. It looks like we will be able to keep meeting with him, so we are pretty excited about that.

So another big thing happened this week; we came back one day to find that we have no water. Something had to be fixed in our building and the city shut off our water. That went on for two days. Not gonna lie, it was getting a little rough towards the end of it. But that first shower after we had water again felt better then any other I've had in my life. We had a bunch of water bottles in the Piso that we emptied out into all the bowls that we had. Then we went and filled up the bottles from a fountain down the street. We were having a pretty fun time with it.

We played futbol again this Saturday, which was fun. None of our investigators showed up, but a less active member that we have been working with did, so that was great. So for p-day this week we went back to top solution once more to try out this place that we have been hearing stories about for a while called Cereal Hunters Cafe. So as I mentioned to the family in the Skype call, we really, really like cereal. We eat a lot of it. Elder Simmons ate and reviewed cereal for fun back at college. He has tried every type of cereal that you could name. The cafe had a large variety of cereal that you buy by the bowl. I went classic American with Cinnamon Toast Crunch. I would have gone with Life, but they didn't have it. It was fun, pretty dang expensive though; one large bowl of cereal was 4 euros.

A scripture I wanted to share this week is pretty stinking awesome. It's Doctrine and Covenants 122:7. Everyone should look it up. It's a revelation given to Joseph Smith while he was in liberty jail. We shared this scripture with the less active member that we met with on Saturday and who is going through some hard stuff right now. Everyone in the world has their own trials and afflictions that we don't see or comprehend. That is one of the things that I have come to see more and more as a missionary that can be hard sometimes. But no matter how hard our trials are or how much we go through, it will be for our good. And throughout all of our afflictions, we can take comfort in the fact that we are never alone, because the one who suffered greatest of all was Jesus Christ himself. And He was able to overcome it, and with His help we can, too.

I love you all! Till next week!
