Better late than never!

Hello my peeps!
Punto de Hildalgo on the northern part of the island

So, it's been a pretty good week, pretty busy again. On Tuesday we had intercambios with the zone leaders. That was a bunch of fun; we had to fly over to Las Palmas for that. It was cool and a super beautiful place.

After that we went about our week. We had service with a family on Friday, which was great. The service that day was a lot like at grandma's; we spent a lot of time clearing plots of land, planting, and turning dirt.  We worked on a little farm on a cliff right next to the ocean. That was super beautiful. I didn't have a camera though, so no pictures of that. I'll try and take some if we ever do service there again.

Unfortunately, there isn't much else to talk about this week. We are at the point where we are working with a bunch of members to try and get new investigators, but not seeing the fruits quite yet. So we are keeping super busy, but we don't have any investigators. We are going to make a change this week and just focus on finding, so we can get some people to teach. There is a balance to finding and teaching that we haven't figured out yet. I'll tell you guys how that goes next week.

So the picture to the right is from my intercambio en Las Palmas. There was a great view. The next two are from a pueblos trip we went on to go pass by some members. It was a pretty place, but it had a lot of hills. It was very tiring. The city in the bottom right of the picture is Puerto de la Cruz.

I have been learning the importance of organization. It has impacted this transfer. We just need to keep pushing forward and the work will progress. We are still teaching the restoration, but it hasn't really been done here in La Laguna yet.  There is also a new challenge President Pack has given us to teach the members how to share the restoration to their friends.

There are 3 areas on this island, and each area is it's own district. Those BEACH pictures are from the northern part of the island at a place called Punto de Hildalgo.

Everything the island needs gets shipped in. I have tried paella several times. It's pretty good, but among Spanish foods not my favorite. I really love tortillas- they are super good. What we eat depends on the members we that invite us. We ate with an Italian family and had lasagna and garlic bread one day. Another time, we ate with a family from Venezuela and had something called arepas. Those are super good. I'll try and snap a picture of them the next time we eat them. We put a bunch of different stuff on them including a sauce that's like guac but is different. It's called wazacacah.

My spiritual thought for this week is on patience, patience and diligence. Sometimes, we work hard, and we don't see the fruits of our labors right away. It can take time, but what's important is that we never give up. We keep working, we keep striving. We always do the best. Sometimes we can get down and be hard on ourselves, but the Savior will always be there to help pick us back up. I love you all!
