On the way to zone conference! |
So it's been a pretty crazy week. So we had zone conference,
and it was just awesome. The majority of the focus was on how we can use the
new technology to focus on our mission purpose and to help further the work. I
am so excited to see all the advances in the work that are going to be coming;
the Lord is truly hastening His work.
So one cool thing that happened this week was that as a
district, we went out to a busy street and set up this poster of Christ, and
then sang hymns by it for a bit. It was an idea we had to mix things up a bit
and to see how it worked. I was a little apprehensive about it, but it ended up
being a super cool experience. We ended up meeting this super nice old Canarian
lady who was like our only audience. It was super fun though, she was calling
out to people as they walked by and telling them to come listen to us, ha. She
was super sweet, and funny. I attached a picture of her below.
As a part of zone conference, we received all kinds of new tools, like Facebook, messenger, Whatsapp, and smartphones. It’s so special, because the Lord is really blessing us so much, and He is putting a lot of trust in our mission right now. What is cool is that with all of this new technology, we aren't receiving a bunch of new rules. Instead, President has invited to work with our companions and set our own rules and guidelines for ourselves about what we will and won't do and to what extent we will be using technology. It makes it a little harder, but I also feel like it helps us use our agency more and prepare for the rest of our lives, too.
As a part of that, I wanted to talk a little bit about what
we have been planning on doing. So it's all still a work in progress, but my
plans at this point are to post a message on Facebook at least once a week, if
not more. With that, I have a couple of invitations for all of you guys. First,
if you see something I've posted, Share it! Tag friends, spread it as much as
you can! My other invitation is to do the same for any missionaries that live
close to you and are using Facebook. In fact, make their posts a priority. My
last invitation is to make your own spiritual posts!
One thing I have the learned this week is how easy it is to
share a message with everyone. An awesome resource that we have is the media
library on the church website. Just making a simple post online can help
someone so much anc can reach so many people. To clarify my invitation, it's
for everyone to make a post on some kind of social media site. You can share a
quote from conference, a video, a picture, a spiritual experience that you had.
If anyone feels nervous doing it, I want to share one of my new favorite scriptures,
Moroni 8:16. There is never need to have fear, because everything we do, we do
out of love. On that note, I love you all!!
Till next WEEK!
