Thanks to the GB 1st ward for looking after Brandon! |
Hey guys!
So it's been a pretty interesting week. With whatsapp and
the new technology, we have been able to get into contact with our potential
investigators a lot easier, and we were able to set up a lot of citas this
week, which was awesome. Unfortunately, almost everyone of them failed...ha. It's
all good though. We are starting to get stuff set up for this week, though; so
I'm still pumped.
This new technology is honestly such a blessing. We are only
just starting to see the advances in the work, and it's only been 2 weeks. I
will say sorry, though; I haven't been posting on Facebook as much as we were
originally thinking. I’m still planning on doing messages frequently. We just
haven't been able to decide on a plan of how we are going to use Facebook, and
I don't want to go onto it if I don’t already have a clear idea or plan of what
I am going to do… Just to make it easier to avoid temptation and to help us use
time wisely.
So a little update on our investigators: We currently have 2,
and we’re still working on getting more. They are both doing great though. One
is progressing towards baptism and is making great steps. In my short time here
on the island, I have already seen his faith grow so much. It is so cool to me,
because when the missionaries originally found him, he didn't believe in God.
Our other investigator is doing well, tambien. She is having a little trouble
right now with some conflicting loyalties that she has with how she has been
feeling while she meets with us and with her previous church, but we are
working on helping her with that. I really love both of them. They are truly
incredible people. Whenever I meet with them, I can almost always feel the pure
love of Christ for them; it's a special experience. So moving on, not much else
happened this week, except for transfers.
So, as the subject says, transfers came, however, once more
I have lied...there were a TON of changes! First things first: my companion, Elder
Johnson is off to Segovia. What's super cool is that this transfer I will be training!
I'm so excited. So in other news, our district was combined with the Santa Cruz
district. We will also be receiving more missionaries to work full time in
Puerto, so I won't have to travel back and forth every week, which is a relief.
With the combination of the districts, I was made district leader, and I am
definitely already feeling the new responsibility. With these changes, we are a
district of 10 missionaries. For those of you who don't know, that's a lot. 4/5
companionships including my own will be training. So we are going to be a very
young district. Ha! I'm super pumped, though; it's going to be great. I don't know who I will training yet, and I
won't meet him till this Wednesday when he flies in. I'll make sure to send
pics next week, but for now you'll will just have to be patient.

This week I wanted to share a message on the importance on
the Spirit. This past week I have just been studying the Spirit super in depth,
and I am loving it. Really, everything about missionary work is just all based
on following the Spirit, so it's definitely something that's important. When we
are baptized and confirmed, we receive el Don del Espíritu Santo. We have a
promise that when we are worthy we can have the constant companionship of the
Holy Ghost and that he will help us in every decision that we need to make.
What a blessing for an imperfect people living in an imperfect world. We don't
always know what's best for us or what to do, but the Spirit does. I love you
all and want to invite you all to actively search for impressions of the Spirit
everyday, and to constantly strive to be worthy of his company. I love you all
and wish you the best!

I have taken no photos this week....forgive me....
(A few photos did come. Brandon explained the following:) We sometimes have issues with WiFi. I'll send an email on
pday, but sometimes it doesn't actually get to you until a day later when we
get on WiFi again. Sorry for the confusion. (So the zone conference pictures were supposed to arrive last week. Then he also had sent this one the previous week. I know he's happy to have the TRX-he has lost over 50 pounds.) I have a pic I forgot to share with
you..... I got the trx!!! It's super awesome, as I tried to express in the
photo my gains are already increasing. I tried to be funny in the pic. Thanks
so much; my workouts are already getting better. Tell Taylor Thank you.
